It appeared in glossy print, most recently in the June issue of Shape magazine (“Why You Must Eat Chocolate Daily,” page 128). For some time, we have talked about the potential link between neurogenesis, or the lack thereof, and risk for Alzheimer’s disease, but there has been little scientific literature on which to further explore this possibility. Until now. A critically important new study looks at rates of neurogenesis and markers for Alzheimer’s disease, and sheds some light on this relationship. Let’s explore.
